Hello Coordinators,

It was a very quiet morning today. The only report I have is that we are in need of more dry erase markers and erasers.

Blake, I talked to you about an inventory idea...can I go ahead with that idea or do you want me to wait until after we have a coordinator meeting? And, as far as the meeting, for us personally, May would be a better time.

That's it...short and sweet,
Connie

Coordinators report from April 11

A busier morning with crying little ones but not too chaotic.

Jocelyn, Imira Gorski is late preschool, family ID #113, info for permanent name tag.

Regarding aides: Please remove Eden Suarez from the list. She did not show and her sister said to remove her. Becky Jones did not show, we might want to check with her as we often have to track her down. We did not go look for her as we were okay with aides. Just a note for aides, we only had one show up along with the crowd of children, we were atleast 5 min. into class time till the other's came. Possibly send a reminder to try and arrive promptly. I was scrambling there thinking no one else was coming.

The Matthews taught 1/2nd grade and expressed concern that this class needs to be split up. They felt it is too large to properly teach this many children and too keep control. In hindsight we should of put a helper in with them but the teaching list shows Liz is on with them but she was not in with them this past week. Possibly check with them if she is in fact going to help. Definately this coming week give them an aide. They had 23 in the class. They both seemed frustrated.

There was a broken yard stick in Kindergarten class. We left a note to the teacher and taped it, till we can replace with a new one.

The last two weeks we had situations where the ID number could not be put on the screen due to technical glitch or a song was up etc. The Millers and Galen and I thought it would be good to have a master list of family ID numbers and names to keep at the sound booth. We gave galen a number and he ran it up but wasn't sure who it was and they couldn't get it on the screen. Usher's would be able to help locate people if we can't get the number to come up. Just a good back up, especially with many new families.

We had two incident's where children got slightly hurt. Jane had suggested having an accident report kept in the file box just to cover the church. Something to think about.

Welcome Jane and Scott.

That's it for this week.

Coordinators update from April 4

A very busy, little chaotic at times, morning, but hopefully we appeared in control :)

Urgent need for more yellow visitor cards. We ran out with the second visiting family and tried to make up our own for the rest of the families.

We could use more of the letters to tape to the CD's that we hand out.

Al and Celeste Gorski would like a sticker made for Imira Gorski #113, she is their grand daughter.

Regarding aides, we had two not show up and Melissa Reinford immediately went into the nursery to take care of the little ones. That seems to be what she prefers, so maybe we should move her to the nursery aide list instead of the classroom list. Not sure what her understanding was as far as being an aide, but I think she wants to be in the nursery.

Enjoy the day,
Teresa

Sunday, March 21

Not too much to report - an uneventful (but good) Sunday.
  • Could we please have Callie Herr (#125) and Ava Prosseda (#583) added to the nursery roster and stickers?
  • Benners need new ID cards (#226)
  • Nic Prosseda needs a new permanent ID card (#583)

That's all! -- Steve and Krin

Sunday, March 14th

There were no visitors Sunday and it was calm so Ed & I were able to get some other things in better order.

I punched holes in the laminated evacuation maps and placed them in the rings of each classes binder instead of it being in the pocket where it was getting covered by other papers. In doing this, I realized early pre-school doesn't even have a laminated evacuation map. Would Jocelyn or Blake be able to provide one for this classes folder?

At the end of the service late-preschool said they needed their scotchtape replenished. Their wooden cart was already gone so I got tape out of the supply room and just stuck it in the front of the brown filebox. Krin, could you put the tape in the late-preschool cart this week?

Late-preschool also brought Ed & I a tape/CD player cord at the end of the service. It did not fit the player in their wooden cart so I just laid it on our coordinator's rolling cart. If any coordinators have time in the next couple of weeks, they can try to figure out what it belongs to. If unsuccessful, I say we throw it!

One last thing, the 3rd grade wooden cart is a wreck, it needs repairs. Ed is going to try to work on it this week. (if we remember...anyone want to remember to remind us!!)

Ed replenished each classes snack supply and went through the snacks in the supply room. There were several bags of rancid animal crackers that he tossed.

At the end of the service, a nursery worker mentioned that some of the nursery toys are a bit on the ragged side. If anyone has a chance to look at them, they can. I know I'm supposed to be the inventory lady so technically, it's my job but I'm failing at it. Maybe I can look at them t his week though while Ed is fixing the 3rd grade wooden cart!

Oh, one more thought...5th grade teachers are the ones who requested more Bibles in their cart. I know Jocelyn purchased more and they are on our coordinator cart, I was wondering if we should just put them right in the 5th grade cart instead.

Signing off,
Connie

March 7th wrap-up

Everything seemed to run smoothly this morning. We had one visiting family. Classes were a little smaller today so we had enough aides; even sent one back to the service. Nursery appeared to run smoothly as well with ample help.

I went through the visitor cards and got rid of most 2008 cards, taking away some of the bulk of the file box.

Jocelyn made a current schedule for each coordinating couple. I took ours and put the other copies, by name, in the "Current Schedule" file folder so each of you couples can pick it up when you're on duty or get it from Ed and I next week.

We had 2 moms ask to move their younger child up to the next class, I enforced the new policy that moving to another class only happens in September, regardless of birthdays. Both moms accepted this new policy very well.

That's all I can think of for this week.

Coordinators report from Feb. 28

Please note for Sunday Mar. 7th, the Suarez's will be teaching 5th grade for Dan and Linda.

The 6th grade class will be back on their normal schedule for the month of March.

We only had one aide show up for Nursery duty. We had 9 babies. We pulled an aide from the class room list and used Kaitlyn Muelners as she was standing near the table and she was willing to help out. Two aides did show up at the end of the service. They were to fill in for two of the aides on the schedule who were sick but both of them forgot.

We used all our aides this week. I spoke with Gina and they like having two aides. One guy and one girl. The guys play more with the children and the girls enjoy reading books. It's a good combination, if possible.
