October 28
It was a pretty quiet morning. We do need more guest CD's, we were completely out of them and had a few visitors this morning. We do owe one to Dan & Jen Herb for a guest (Thomas Green) that they brought with them. Most of the visitors didn't get a CD, but also don't know they didn't get one because they wouldn't know we do that. But I felt compelled to let this particular visitor know we would get one to him via the Herbs, who brought him. So Connie & Ed, if you could see that one gets passed along, I would appreciate it.
November 4
Well I was quite anxious for the changes that this morning would bring, but it was very quiet and all the teachers and helpers did a great job. We were overwhelmed with a few adults and youth who even offered to help if needed.
Connie & Ed, since we only did Sunday school through second grade I put the new attendance and coloring pages in the file box. They came to the Heritage, but we didn't have the red binders to put them away.
We are out of animal crackers.
Lastly, this note is for Jocelyn and has nothing to do with Children's Ministry. Jocelyn, there was a gentleman by the name of David Henshaw who is not online but wanted to be included in the guess who's coming for dinner. I told him I would make sure you signed him up. So please confirm you read this, thanks!

New Family ID cards needed for the Zimpfer family #199
Scott and Jane, if you could see that the Rudloff's get their new ID cards in the box that would be great. They had lost theirs again :) and they were not there this past Sunday to get them their new cards. I just didn't want them to get lost amongst the remaining family ID cards that we've not handed out.
That is all the administrative stuff that happened this past Sunday.

Sunday, Oct. 14
A very quiet morning.
Could the Rudloff's have new family ID cards. They have misplaced both of their cards. They told me when we gave them their new cards that they should probably have duplicates as they are notorious for losing their cards :) I guess they were right!! #189
The 5th grade attendance sheet was missing from binder. We just made a copy of our's and placed it in the folder for the teacher.
Also, Connie if you could bring the pretzels for this Sunday that would be great. Galen mentioned you had some at home.
That's all for now.

So I was quite anxious about being the coordinators for move-up Sunday, this being our first time I didn't know what to expect. It was very quiet...and I'm thankful.
Just a few notes:
1) we could use a few more pens and pencils in the zipper pouch. I had to toss a few pens that were done
2) Al and Celeste Gorski need a new ID card, the new orange ones...yes already :-)
3) the Knepps tried Myka in the Kindergarten class because they feel he is to big to continue in late preschool. We need to come up with a "Myka supply box" for him and his aide. Stuff that will hold his attention, but is not noisy or distracting to the kids in the K class. I was thinking a magnet board and some magnets, some picture books, play-dough. I would love to take this project on of putting it together, but I can't promise I'll have it done by this coming Sunday. If any of you other coordinators have suggestions of things we could put in the box send them my way.
4) Karah McNeil is moving from Nursey to Early Preschool.
5) What is the rule for how many teachers in a classroom? I have always thought that there needs to be two adults but recenlty I have noticed a few teachers having their "youth-aged" child helping just one adult. This past Sunday being Becky with Gabrielle. I just want to clarify if this is OK.
6) Michaela Miller would like to be added to the schedule now that she is old enough
That's all. Jane

August 26th
We started handing out the new ID cards, still about half left to hand out.
Regarding aide list: please remove Sawyer Beckley and Sarah Fenstermacher
The nursery was pretty chaotic again as I had no adults the first 10 min. Thank you Krin for helping me out. Rachel Gardocki did not show up. I believe the last time we were one she did not show up and Krin mentioned the same when they were on. Could we check with her if she still wants to be kept on?
Jocelyn, info for the Hagemen's. e-mail dhageman7@verizon.net 215-453-1478 (move up info)
Blake: regarding a teacher switch for 2nd and 3rd grade. Jesus Arocho came to us and asked if it was possible for him to move up to the third grade class as he enjoyed his 2nd graders this past year. After class was over Dave Dailey came and asked if he and Brooke could move back down to 2nd grade? We were so excited and told Dave about Jesus wanting to move up. We will let you figure out the details of this and get back to both teachers. Dave and Brooke really would prefer to stay with the April and Aug months as 3 months would be a lot for them.
Thats it.

Sundays August 5 & 12
Hi All -
The 5th was pretty uneventful, and today was fine but a large number of criers in the nursery made that a rough morning in there. Had 5 nursery workers, but it still stayed an unsettled morning.
Also, we've been putting an extra aide in late preschool for the last two weeks because there has been a steady 16-18 kids in there, and it's just really busy.
Hageman's need new ID Cards.
We need more encouragement cards and also temporary ID cards (will probably need those for this Sunday if that's not too much of a problem.)
Blake, the Schwenks were wondering if their son Ezra may be put into Early Pre? He is 1 1/2 and wants to stay in there each Sunday when his sister is dropped off in there. They have not been putting him in nursery because they feel he might be a bit too much for the little ones in there. Your thoughts?
I think that's all for now - have a great week everyone~!

We had a busy morning, but it was all a good busy. We had five first-time visiting families this week! And two families who were visiting, but not necessarily new to the church. With all that said we need new Visitor Information Cards. Acutally, we needed them for this past Sunday, but since I forgot to blog it the Reeds had to come up with an alternative. Sorry Connie & Ed!!!
Jess Miller was confused as to why she is no longer on the aide schedule for the 3rd Sunday. I didn't know how to respond so I said I would follow up and see if someone else knew why.
We are in need of a 5th grade teacher for August.
Is it possible to get a current teacher schedule for the file box?
Lastly, Jan & Becky Landis and Jen & Dan Herb will be switching classes this fall. Jan & Becky will drop down to 3rd grade and Jen & Dan will move up to 4th. Jan & Becky were looking to teach Keturah's class. Dan & Jen agreed to the switch.
That's it.

It was a quiet Sunday. Just a few matters of business...
1) We need a revised copy of the new aide schedule in the file box. Was that something I was suppose to print out and bring with me?
2) Johana Schwenks name is on the attendance, but her name tag has not been printing. I guess Jocelyn will need to look into why she would be missing from the name tags?
3) The opposite of that is Nate Hageman's name tag prints, but he is still missing on the attendance?
4) We are out of napkins and Scott couldn't find any in the storage closet
5) We are out of Bible Memory sheets in the file box. I had to make photocopies for the Landis'
And that leaves me with the only "situation" we had, which I realized later was partially our fault, but felt I should have it logged. The Early Preschool teacher sent 4 kids out to the bathroom at one time, but didn't come out or send an aide out to help. She seemed pretty frazzled when I asked her about it, but it turned out she was the only teacher, only that was not communicated to us. I had sent her aide in and she thought she could manage by herself so she didn't say anything...that is until we had four little ones who needed to use the bathroom and not enough hands to make that happen. So I actually had Scott stand in the ladies bathroom at the edge of the door while I helped the little ones...but no one women were in there. So yes, Scott had to partially come into the ladies room, I couldn't come up with a better solution in the moment, and actually Blake helped some little guys that were in the bathroom. It was a great reminder for Scott and I that we need to check in the classrooms even if our aides show up and tell us they are here. I could have easily sent another aide to help her if I had known her other teacher hadn't shown up. This all happened pretty early on in the morning so it would have been before we collected attendance, which we may have realized then. Either way the whole thing was awkward.

Sunday July 1
Well, atleast we had one calm and peaceful Sunday!! This sunday was not!!
Thank you Jess, Micah and Olivia for your willingness to help me out. We asked numerous youth and no one wanted to miss the service this past sunday so we so appreciated your willingness to serve very last minute.
One of our aides listed never showed. We needed two aides in EP with only one teacher, unless that teacher situation changes, remember to place two aides in that class room. Jesus Arocho was teaching in 2nd grade alone, so we scrambled to find him an aide. Also Bob Seashultz and Kevin B. were teaching Late preschool together so I needed to find a female aid for that classroom. I believe Kevin may help out for the month so be aware of the aide situation for LP. Also, not sure if this is done or not but can we have the aides for Sean D. and Myka K stop at our table and tell us they are here, just like we are asking all the other aides to do. The last two weeks we were running around trying to find them sometimes they are back with their assigned person and sometimes we need to go get them. It would help tremendously if they would check in with us as well as the other other aides.
When I read over this it doesn't sound like all that big a deal, but when this all happens at the same time I can get sooo stressed, realizing people are often trying to sign in children or ask questions before class etc. and we're trying to locate aides. Thankfully every week isn't like this!!
Please note the Alburgers are teaching for the Reinfords this sunday July 8th in the K class.
There was great confusion yet again, with the Bible Memory for the 3rd grade class. I will talk to you in person Krin and try and figure it all out. Not sure what is happening, but there is huge disconnect between teachers and between the e-mails they are being sent regarding the Bible memory. We could probably use more Bible Memory sheets for in our file. WE went to the HUB and took some as teachers are still asking for them, Again, I'm not sure what the kids are doing with them but it seems like every time we get new teachers they are asking for more sheets to hand out.
Nate Hageman should be in 2nd grade on the attendance sheets #235. His name is on the 3rd grade sheet. The parents may have had him in that class before with a sibling. FYI I noted the change on both sheets. Also, Micah hageman is in EP but will not go to class with out his brother Jude, so the parents have them both going to LP until Sept. when Jude will move to K.
We gave the last of the Clorox wipes to the Nursery aides, that will need to be restocked.
Also, just note, we had quite a few relatives attending classes with cousins, so we just marked them down under the family number from our church.
I think that's it.
Happy 4th of July!!!

Hi All -
Yes, I am two weeks behind - sorry. = ( Anyhow, just a note or two from our week.
Silvers would like Jayne added to permanent tags and roster. Her birthdate is 8/24/11.
Also, is it possible to move some nursery aides from Week 3 to weeks one and two? We have 7 in there every 3rd Sunday, and only 3 or 4 aides in there during Weeks 1 & 2. Just a thought. Sometimes I know those girls get a little bored when there aren't enough babies to go around. = )
That's all for now! Thanks.

June 24th
Josh and Brianna Kemmerer would like to put Everly in the nursery starting in July. Her birth date is 11/1/11.
The black ink cartridge for the copier ran out on Sunday while we were copying papers. Will need a new one for Sunday.
We could use more small drinking cups for the younger classes and also Tissue Box in our supplies.
MAJOR miss communication for the 1st and 2nd grade class. Apparently the set up team was planning for 1st and 2nd to be combined as only one door was opened and both grade signs were together on another door. This lead us to believe they were still combined. Coulsons were filling in for 2nd grade and we told her the classes must be combined yet this month, unfortunately we really werent' sure, the schedule has it marked combined for the month the Thompsons were teaching and I guess we were unsure if that was for the whole summer??? Anyway, the Smalls ended up showing up to teach the 1st grade class. They both just taught together. I felt bad, we were confused, they seemed confused. I think the set up team is confused. With the subbing taking place it is hard to be on top of things as often the subs aren't sure of what is expected of them and we feel inadequate how to answer some of their questions.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Coordinators update Sunday May 27th
Rudloff's need new ID cards, #189. Carol said they could use multiple copies. They keep losing them.
Regarding aides: Connie, is maddy still wanting to be on the list? She was on this past sunday but we were able to use the floater and all worked out fine. Also, just repeating what Ed had shared at our meeting regarding aides reporting to us at the table before they head back. We were searching for our two aides for MK and SD and after a while, realized they were already back in the room. So that would be so helpful to just have the aides stop by the table.
Krin, not sure if Salome Schwenks mom found you after church on Sunday. Salome was so distraught that she forgot to say her Bible memory to the teacher and I think they were looking for you in the HUB when we left. Just so you know this little girl and her mom have made valient efforts to make sure someone knows she said her verses so she can get her prize.
Somehow we need to get everyone on the same page with this Bible Memory. We have children saying verses and it's not getting recorded, parents telling Krin their child should of gotten a prize and they didn't, some getting prizes and the parent tells us their child didn't know the memory verse. This would be a great area for that CM opportunity we were discussing regarding asking Sherri Hughes about possibly undertaking. Was she ever asked about filling this much needed role?
One other item: Ed and Connie, not sure if your on this Sunday as we've switched around a lot, but whoever is on, please note there is a cardboard box which I labeled preschool toys stored in with the other bins. Zach clemmer said he would put it away with the other bins from the classes. Just wanted to make sure someone got it and placed the toys (mostly trucks) in the Late Preschool class or Early preschool class bins. Which ever one you think could use them. Someone dropped the box off after class this past sunday. It's got a bunch of great trucks that the little boys will love. I just don't want it getting overlooked.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Details from 5/6/12
Dan & Lori Hageman would like to get a permanent ID card. There kids are as follows:
Rileigh 7/11/01, Nathan 6/12/03, Caleb 3/25/05, Jude 5/23/07, Micah 3/19/09
The Knaubs need a new ID card thanks to a little mishap with the washing machine.
On the attendance sheets Noah Derstine needs to be moved from Early Preschool to Late Preschool.
Just want to note that with 1st & 2nd grade combined there were a total of 18 kids. Wendy was fine and didn't even want the aide we offered to her. Just thought it would be good to keep an eye on that class.
Not sure if you want to remove JJ & Susie Alleman from the attendance and name tags since they are now in Hungary.
It was a quiet morning overall. Thanks.

Coordinators report for 4/29
Pretzels are needed for the Early and Late Preschool stock. Low in both classrooms.
Still having issues with needing another lower table for the preschool rooms. I think both low tables were in the late preschool and early had no tables set up. I think we are frustrating the set up guys. One week they are told one thing and then it get's changed till the next week. I guess it would just be the best to obtain another lower table as both classes use them and Late Pre is a fairly large class needing two.
Nursery was an issue again. Only one aide showed up and she had tons of crying babies with parents staying in until we could round up helpers. We did get 3 young girls but again, we should of tried to find another adult as there are so many crying babies it seems and the younger girls just aren't sure how to best help out in that situation. We were desperate and just grabbed who was closest at the time.
Have a great week.

Sunday, April 22nd
Sunday was an unusually crazy day. Only 2 of our 5 nursery workers showed up, and those 2 were teenagers, and we had a large amount of crying babies. I was trying to grab people to help, but was a little more difficult with the youth being in the VOM assembly. (Thank you Teresa for jumping in there!) Also, two of our classroom aides needed to be looked for, which just made drop-off time very chaotic.
Also, not having a specific gameplan for the after-service meeting was not good. Teachers, parents, helpers, etc. were asking us questions, there was much confusion, and we really did not have any answers to give them because there was no set plan (it kept changing up until the end.) I just felt badly, because in the parents eyes, I really felt like it looked like we didn't know what we were doing. If we could come up with a very specific gameplan ahead of time next time, that would be great.
Joce, thank you for putting a note in the announcements about the nursery toys. I will grab the bins on Sunday, and go through them, and re-stock the nursery.
Brenna Seeley (1/24/11) needs nametags. I believe she is on the roster, but there has not been nametags for her.
The Knaubs are in need of new ID cards.
And Blake, I'm not sure what to say about the table situation for the preschool classes. I know that you and Steve had talked on Sunday about moving the low table from Early Pre into Late Pre so that Late Pre could have two low ones, but I do feel like Early Pre might miss theirs, because I know that they do use if for coloring and for play. So, if we are unable to buy another low one, I think keeping a low one in Early, and just using one low and one high in Late, might be best.
That's all for now!

Sunday, April 15
Hi Guys -
Very easy and laid back day. I'm not sure who is on for the last Sunday of the month, but just wanted to let you know that the 6th grade class will be meeting on the fifth Sunday because of Easter.
Blake, the purple CD player from the nursery was missing this week. Steve went to the closet to see if he could spot it, but did not see it. Is it possible to check with the set-up guys to see if they have seen it? The nursery does use it quite often. We borrowed early preschool's for them to use this past week.
Jocelyn, would it be a big pain for you to send out an e-mail to the mothers of younger kids to see if they would have any nursery-aged toys that they would be willing to donate? I was thinking to maybe send it out to moms of nursery-late preschool classes? The nursery toy selection is really poor and boring (Denise Randolph said this past week, that there are toys in those boxes that were there when Morgan was a baby. Yikes.) Anyhow, my thought was that I will put a labeled box in the foyer this Sunday for the moms to put their donations in. I guess just ask for fun and interesting gently used toys.
I think that's all for now!

April Fool's Day Report
After finally recalling what my password was I am able to blog!
As Jane mentioned last week, we are in need of yellow temporary tags...we are down to one.
Jocelyn,
Gwen Knepp couldn't find Mari's sticker last week. It should be on the Kindergarten sheet of labels. I'm not sure if Gwen just didn't see it on the K sheet or if it was on the wrong sheet? Just double check this before printing the labels out for Sunday.
Staci Smith requested 2 tables in the Late Preschool class. There were too many children to fit around one table to do their coloring this past Sunday.
Ed requested that the aides, even though they are assigned to a specific class, still come to the coordinators before reporting to the class they are serving. Maybe we can talk about this more at our coordinators meeting in May.
We were able to answer Mike and Lianna Kemmerer's questions, who were filling in for kindergarten, before class and as far as I know all the other teachers who were teaching for the first time had a good experience. The morning seemed to run smoothly for both them and Ed and I - no one played any April Fool's jokes on us! By the way, who wrapped Jeremy's car in saran wrap?
Lord willing, see you all Sunday.

March 18th & 25th
Quickly blogging about our two weeks as coordinators before Connie & Ed have a chance to get on here :-)
We need more yellow visitor cards. Hoping they had enough to get by today because it was pretty low.
That's all. Everything went smoothly.
Thanks, Jane

March 11th 2012
This is my notes for the past two weeks.
New ID cards needed to replace lost cards.
William and Kristin Palmer #156 -
Gloria O'Brien #139
Regarding Nursery:
Kristin Palmer would like to place Elijah in the nursery. I forgot to get info from her to get a permanent name tag for him. Could the next coordinator please get birthdate etc. to send to Jocelyn for her records.
Brendon and Easter Alburger are placing Bradley in the nursery. His birthdate is 8/11/11
They will need family ID cards and name tag made up for Bradley. No Allergies.
Regarding the Aide/Nursery Schedule:
Is there a more updated list or is the one we have in the bin the most current? Emily Shotts asked me two weeks in a row if she was on to help because she recieved an e-mail saying she was scheduled. Her name wasn't on anywhere and the past two weeks we had plenty of help.
We handed out the Bible Memory gift cards and restocked the EP gift box. We gave the gift cards to the parents to avoid the children possibly misplacing them after church. We had two more to hand out. The families were not at church on Sunday. We placed them in front of the file box.
Enjoy this beautiful week.

Hi, Galen, Teresa, Scott, Jane, Steve, Krin, Blake and Jocelyn,
This morning was quiet. Only one thing to share for future weeks...apparently the Pennview teacher who occupies the classroom we use for 5th grade is a little bummed about the way we leave her room. She has drawn a layout of her room and taped it to her dry erase board in the front of her class and expects the room to look like the drawing. The Sebras who taught in Feb. are aware of this but as we change teachers month to month we need to remember to pass the message on.
Also, several families I have not seen for awhile and I was wondering what Jocelyn or Blake's thoughts were on taking them out of our system. They are...
#221 - Moore
#197 - Coleflesh
#212 - Rose
# 212 - Koenig
#219 - Cunningham
#204 - Prosseda
Oh, yeah, one more thing...we were unable to locate the 6th grade plastic box which contains their attendance folder etc. Trish Mellinger finally found it in the supply room on a shelf. Not sure how it got there but if in future weeks, any of you can't find it, you may want to start by looking there.
Jocelyn, I couldn't find you after church so I gave the Feb. attendance papers to Julie Bell. Jeremy will bring them to the office Monday morning.
Hope you all have a good week. I believe Galen and Teresa are up next!

Sunday, February 19th
We had ample aidesand things went smoothly. Early Pre-School was under control this week but apparently last week they had a lot of criers so Steve and Krin took some aides from nursery and moved them into Early Pre-School. This option is something to keep in mind for future weeks if the same situation occurs. Nursery attendance is low right now so we have this flexibility.
Matt and Katie Witter would like to be put in the system and obtain permanent family ID cards. They put Josiah in the nursery yesterday for the first time. Josiah's birthday is 9/15/10 and he is allergic to strawberries and apricots. Their phone number is 267-664-2492.
Iris Xie would also like a permanent number and card. Her son is Jonathan Cheng. He is in 5th grade however, I failed to get any other info. for him. I will work on that next Sunday. Sorry Jocelyn.
Knaubs and Stehrs each need another set of permanent ID cards printed - both are lost.
Schwenks and Ordenanas need just one permanent ID card printed - 1 is lost.
Pretzels and animal crackers are restocked.
I checked on supplies in the supply card and they seemed fine. I would agree with Krin though that the memory verse prizes for the early and late preschoolers are a little lacking. Maybe Krin or I can purchase a few new items if that is okay with you Blake.
As far as I know, the children who were being cared for during worship as well as church did well. I did not hear anything negative. Oh, Blake, I had Justin pass out the snowman craft supplies to the Early and Late Pre-school classes during worship but forgot about checking back into this. Justin said he left the box in the Early Preschool class but I do not know if there were any supplies leftover. Sorry for forgetting about this.
Just so no one gets confused with the coordinator schedule. Ed and I will be on again this coming Sunday as we switched our Feb. dates with Krin and Steve.

Sorry this is late!
OK, blogging is definitely not my strength. I realize, after seeing Krin's post, that I never posted for either of our two weeks.
Just a couple things:
1) Brian has requested that Isaac Knaub be changed to the early preschool class.
2) Dan & Jen Herb need new ID cards
3) We are in need of new white board markers.
I agree with Krin, there has been a flux of visitors in the past few weeks. If I had remembered to post I would have noted we do need more CD's and welcome letters and snacks.
That's it! Thanks, Jane

Sunday, Feb. 5th
Sunday went fine. Had quite a few visitors with the church plant visiting us. Just a couple of notes:
- We could use more CD's and welcome letters for guests - we are down to one left.
- Connie, we have one bin of pretzels left, and no more animal crackers.
- Blake, could I purchase a few things to restock the prize bin for the preschoolers? A couple of late preschoolers said their memory verse this past week, and when I went into the prize bin, it was kinda lame.
- Jesus Arocho subbed for 2nd grade this week, and Sandra was his assistant. They didn't know about supplying snack (the kids filled them in) and so we got a bag of animal crackers out of the closet for them. Sandra was wondering if there is something to hand out to teachers who are filling in, so that they know those kind of details.
- We could use some extra encouragement cards to keep in our bin.
I think that's all for now!

Coordinators update from Jan. 15th
Sorry for the late post.
A quiet morning.
Some of the red folders could use restocking of encouragements cards. The 4th grade folder was empty and the teacher was looking for a few. We took from another class folder. Does the coordinators cart have more cards stocked somewhere that we could not locate?
Dan Frustino requested a permanent ID card. His son is Caleb Frustino 4/9/02.
That's all.

Coordinators report from Jan. 8th
Nursery: Josh and Bethany Isabell would like to start putting their son, Grayson in the nursery. Could they have family ID cards made up and a sticker for Grayson.
There is still great confusion regarding the Bible Memory sheets and procedures. We had two teachers come to us with questions, kids in classes saying they are not getting sheets when they were to have been given to them. How is all of this communicated to teachers as they just seem to not really understand it all and I don't know what to tell them. I know Krin, you were e-mailing things to parents and teachers I thought. I just feel unsure how to help them. I wish there was greater communication between teachers from one month to the next. That would be so beneficial for the students.

Christmas and New Year's Sundays
Sorry this is so late - I had issues getting into Blogger.
Christmas went well - about 10 youth served, and we had a little over 20 kids.
Here's just a couple of notes from last Sunday:

Here's just a couple of notes from last Sunday:
- We could use more CD's for visitors
- Rich and Kathy Felix need new ID cards (#157)
- Susie Alleman has moved to Early Pre
- Add Emma Herr to nursery roster (8/21/10)
- Sophia Ordenana moved up to Late Pre
I think that's all for now. Blake, I will work on writing up a letter to send out to parents regarding the memory verses. Haven't done that yet.
