Choir dismissal went better this morning. thanks Jocelyn for the attendance sheets. all teachers now have in their folders the list from their class of who is participating in choir. We went around at 11:20 to dismiss for choir.
I just have a thought regarding choir that I wanted to run past everyone. The practice time just seems so inconvenient for so many. It just seems to negatively affect the teachers, the kids left behind in the rooms and any visitors. I was wondering till another year, what it would look like if the children were brought to the cafeteria immediately upon coming to church at 10. Have their practice time during the worship time slot on Sunday morning and then proceed to class. The amount of practice time would be about the same as they are getting now and it wouldn't interfere with any aspect of their class time. this would also illiminate the situation of teachers being asked to "strongly" encourage an unreluctant student to go to choir, at the parents request. We have students not wanting to go and teachers questioning how much they are to push. Would love feedback.
We filed an accident report for Sophia Ordenana, she is in the late preschool class. 3 little girls were running to the bathroom and Sophia wasn't watching where she was going and ran head first into the cement wall. She had a very large egg shaped lump immediately show up on her forehead. We called for her mom. We got ice paks out of the first aide kit. We should purchase new ones to replace the two we used. Also, we could use children's liquid tylenol. All that we could find was adult ibuprophen. Sophia's mom is a nurse and she was wonderful, very calm. Galen and I thought it might be nice for someone from the office or we could call if we can get a phone number and just check in with her this week.
Courtney Markland would like permanent cards. Her children are Cassidy Markland 12/3/06 and Jacob Markland 7/23/09.
The sound wasnt' working for Scott Hendricks and Zachary. Not sure if that got corrected.
A note for the set up guys next week. All classroom doors were open but when they were shut they locked from inside. They could not be open unless someone let you in the room. I guess they weren't totally unlocked. Galen said you needed a key to unlock them all the way.
Have a Great Thanksgiving everyone.

Sunday, November 6
Just a couple of notes:
-Just wondering if we should remove a nursery aide or two from the 1st Sundays, and put them on another Sunday. Cheryl Coulson always brings both of her daughters when she is working in there, leaving way too many nursery workers.
-Please add the OrdeƱana girls to the permanent roster and nametags.
- Olivia 3/1/03
- Jessenia 8/25/05
- Sophia 5/18/08
-Also add:
- Mikayla Folk 10/30/00
I think that's all for today!

Sunday, October 30th
Hi All -
Just a reminder (Joce, you probably totally have all of this down already) but just thought I'd mention that we can probably remove Sebastian Araujo and the Prosseda girls from the class lists, and add JJ & Susie Alleman and Grace Pampel.
Jason Alleman and his wife asked if they may move their daughter Marie (who is a little over two years old) into the late preschool class. The said she is mature, and the crying of the younger ones in early pre, makes her not want to go into class. Is this ok, Blake? If so, we can probably make the change for the new attendance sheets coming out.
I'm not sure if all of us know this, but just thought I'd mention that Joce is able to re-use the label sheets that still have good labels on them, if they are not ripped. So instead of ripping them, we can just pull off the ones that have been printed on, and when we have a nice pile accumulating in our bin, we can get them to her to be used again. Just thought I'd mention that in case some of you did not know.
Lastly, Joce, I was wondering if you could send an e-mail out to all of the teachers reminding them to encourage the kids to memorize their verses. As I was doing rounds yesterday, there were some classes that had nothing marked on the papers, so I'm wondering if things are getting overlooked, or if some teachers didn't understand the new incentive program. My Bec has mentioned that her teachers have never even mentioned the incentives to them, or checked their verses.
I think that's it for now! Thanks!

October 16th and 23rd
After so much confusion on my part, Ed and I finally arrived on the correct Sundays to fulfill our duties and all went well.
Just a few things to report...
Late preschool needs a second aide. Their is one person designated for Myka but an additional aide is needed to help with the rest of the class. If Myka is not at church on any given Sunday, his aide can be released or see if he/she is needed elsewhere.
Leanna Reinford offered to be an aide an additional time/month if needed.
Trish Mellinger told me that ONLY FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, the 6th grade will hold class on the 1st and 3rd Sundays rather than the 2nd and 4th.
That's all. Hope you're all having a joy-filled week.

coordinators report for Oct.2
A few notes from this morning.
Copier needs a new black ink cartridge, HP60.
Jared and Abby Alleman requested permanent CM cards for them and their children. They will be leaving at some point to head overseas but for now would love permanent cards. Children are JJ Alleman 8/21/07 and Susie Alleman 9/18/09.
Two aides never showed up. Sandra and Rebecca Arocho.
Matt Colefesh started teaching the first time today. He came out numerous times, could not locate anything. Are first time teachers given "guidance", "instruction" as to where "everything is located"? Galen helped him find everything, but it would of been so helpful for Matt to kind of maybe sat in with another teacher atleast once or met with someone before today. We didn't realize either, till class was almost over that he was alone. After a talk with him I did remember, vaguely seeing an e-mail from Jocelyn saying Matt would need an aide, he didn't say anything and I totally never thought about it. We told him to always ask the coordinators for an aide if his wife will not be with him.
In thinking about that e-mail I saw from Jocelyn, which I totally didn't retain in my memory, probably because we weren't on that week, even though the request for the aide is for the entire month of October, how can we follow through with something like that just to make sure an aide is available for him, especially if he forgets to ask. Unless, you are all super good at remembering from week to week Jocelyn's e-mails that might pertain to numerous weeks, I was wondering what might help. Obviously I'm blogging that he will need an aide and Jane will probably note that for next week but will the person remember in two weeks. My whole point is, would it help just to have a little clip board or something in the front of our bin with notes like that. I guess this would just apply to requests that would fall on more than one Sunday, just like Matt Coleflesh needing an aide for the entire month of October. Sorry if this is confusing.
That's it for this week. Since I'm getting this out so soon I'm probably forgetting something but if so, I'll post again.

update from Sept. 18th
A few notes from Sunday.
Please highlight Ethan Dailey's name tag for allergies.
Regarding the nursery. There was only one adult (scott silver) and three young girls in the nursery. Chad and Sarah Clemens were scheduled and I know they had sent an e-mail a while back saying they were going to be out a lot with sports on sunday's. It appears like they haven't gotten replacements. Could we check with them and see what we should do as far as keeping them on or removing their names and getting a permanent person in there place. I was hoping to relieve scott as he and bev have their hands full right now with a newborn and Aubrey's having a hard time in early preschool, so they are out a lot with her. He was fine to stay in when the clemens did not show up. But, we definatley needed to have two adults in the room. It's a lot for the young girls when the babies are fussy.
Maybe it would be good to remind all the teachers at our meeting on Oct. 9th to please try and notify the coordinators before Sunday morning if they are unable to teach. The early preschool teacher told me sunday morning she was battling a cold and was not planning on teaching. Galen and Olivia took over and filled in and it wasn't a huge problem. But, if Galen wasn't available it would of been a little more stressful.
The Reed's are filling in for us as coordinators this Sunday the 25th and we are taking there spot on Oct. 2.
Have a good week.
Teresa

Reply to Sept. 4 & 11
Hi Coordinators!
Just replying to a few of Steve & Krin's notes on the last blog...
Just replying to a few of Steve & Krin's notes on the last blog...
- Updates were made for Julia Smith and those entering nursery.
- That's fine about Sean's aide. For when the Loux's teach, Triston can serve the whole month and we will give the rest of the aides off. I'll inform the Loux's too and inquire if Triston would want the other months off then.
- The new memory verse sheets will be available to give to the teachers this Sunday and the teachers are aware of this new program.
- New cards were sent over.

Sunday, Sept 4 & 11
Not too much to report, and move-up day went well. Just a couple of notes:
- Julia Smith's parents asked that we move her back up to the 2nd grade class after all.
- Please add David O'Brien (8-23-10) and Clayton Frank (11-17-10) to nursery roster.
- Clayton needs the highlighted tag, and note on the attendance sheets, that he has an allergy to ALL milk products.
- Blake, I had mentioned this to you on Sunday, but wanted to blog it, just in case any of the coordinators had ideas or thoughts on the Loux's question. Randy and Amy asked if Tristan could be Sean Dailey's aide for the whole month that they are teaching in class, instead of him being on once a month for Sean. Would this work, or does it mess with the schedule too much? Could we ask Sean's other aides to do a month at a time instead of being on once a month? Your thoughts?
- I've been in touch with Blake and Jocelyn this week about trying to implement our new memory verse incentive program for this Sunday. If it all goes through, hopefully the sheets will be on the coordinators table this Sunday so that they can be placed in the red binders. I think we may look to do this for K-6th grade, and keep using the trinket boxes for the pre-school classes. An e-mail will be sent out to the teachers to inform them of the program, and so that they are able to explain it to the kids.
- Joce, we need more encouragement cards, and also the yellow CM Visitor Cards.
That's all for now! Have a great week everyone!

Notes from Sunday:
1)The top story would be Nate Landis got hit in the eye with a toy. There was much blood and thankfully Becky happened to be in the restroom when we took Nate in to begin cleaning him up. Scott still paged Jan out of the service and Carol Rudloff and Gail Reinford manned the Coordinators table so I could assist Becky with Nate. On another note we need more of the Instant Cold Ice Packs since I used the last one yesterday. I did fill out an accident report. And just to have on record Nate is doing just fine.
2)We need more animal cookies for the nursery.
3) Jocelyn, you can remove Rachel Suerman from the Kindergarten attendance, they are now worshiping at Penn Valley Church. You can also remove Tyler & William Leyland (Nursery and 3rd grade), the Leylands are now worshiping at Calvary Church of Souderton.
That's all. Jane

Sunday, July 31st
Hi All -
Sunday went well. Just a couple of notes to mention:
- Had a visitor come out of worship time, asking if we had a staffed room where he could take his little girl to, because she thought the music was too loud. I said that they could gladly sit out in the hallway on the benches, and he said that he really wanted to be in the worship service. Wasn't really sure what else to offer them, so I just apologized, and he seemed to not be too upset.
- Thinking that we could remove Phoenix Kornegay from roster since Jack and Bonnie are not coming to our church anymore. (Phoenix is Bonnie's granddaughter)
- Janessa Hughes would like to be removed from being one of Sean Dailey's aides. She would prefer to be a floating aide or a nursery worker.
- Had two aides that didn't show, but two other youth came down the hallway, and offered to help, so we used them!
- Blake, we talked to Brandon Reinford about being on Children's ministry, and how that sometimes conflicted with him being a hall monitor, but he said that he'd like to stay on CM, and he would just make sure that he switched his hall monitor weeks when it was a fifth Sunday, so I guess we'll just leave him on our schedule.
Think that's all. Have a great week everyone.

Sunday, July 24
Hi All -
Sunday went well - pretty easy day. Two small things:
Kim and Andrew Gushee would like their daughter Ashtyn to be permanately added to the system. Her birthdate is 4/29/10.
I'm thinking that the Todd's and the Leylands could be pulled out of the system, unless someone is aware of something, and feels like we should leave them in.
I think that's all. Have a great week everyone!

Coordinators report July 17th
A quiet morning. It was nice :)
We did have two aides not show, Alayna Reinford and Triston Loux. Cheryl Lewis was out sick but she had called to notify us.
Just to note, Steve and Krin will be on the next two Sundays, the 24th and 31st. Galen and I will be back on Aug. 7th. We had to switch with them this past sunday.
One observation I saw on Sunday to bring to someone's attention. After church there is often the very large gathering of youth in the corner where the water fountains are and where people are trying to get through with little ones' etc. It just became concerning when this woman in a wheelchair was trying to get through them to get to the water fountain and it just made me kind of cringe as no one seemed aware of her and no one was moving!! Maybe we could some how spread the word to have them gather in the hub where there is tons of room.
thats all for now. Heading out to the kiddy pool with Noah and the girls!!!!

* Ava Prosseda's D.O.B. is 7/10/08
* Ethan Dailey can be added to the nursery attendance. There number is 153. Also, please add a note that Ethan is gluten and dairy free. Brooke will provide him a snack.
* it was brought to my attention that the prize box for 2nd grade is low on prizes...and the few that are left the kids are not interested in.
* this week the tables for early & late preschool were not there when the children arrived
* please move Jael Schwenk to the Late Preschool class. She was in EP to be with her sister, but the parents have found the arrangement is not working out. Since Jael is 4 they want to put her in the LP with kids her age. She went this past Sunday and it worked much better for them. She is currently on the EP attendance sheet, so that will need to be changed.
* we were missing two names tags this week (siblings most likely?) they were Brandt & Bryce Shelly. The parents are Jason & Renita (ID #211). We did not know who they are and Blake was not sure either. I am assuming they must have been in church to have had both kids name tags missing, but neither child came to Children's Ministry. I just wanted to make a note of this for the other coordinators to be aware of.
* Gabriella Suarez did no show up for nursery and Amy Jefferis did not show up for Sean Dailey.
* Charlotte Coulson was not there this past week and while her mom did come to the table to tells us she would not be there, they had not found her a replacement. Jess Godshall stepped in to help with Myka Knepp in Charlotte's absence. I'm not sure that Cheryl or Charlotte were aware that they should try to find a replacement, it may be something worth following up on.

Sundays June 19 & 26
Due to a momentary lapse of memory last week, I'm blogging for both Sundays at the same time :-)
1) We are still in need of more visitor CD's. We actually only had one visitor in the past two weeks, and that was the guest speaker's family.
2) Lyndsey Stehr requested being moved off the nursery for the summer while she her foot recovers. I'm sure this is already being handled, but wanted to still make a note of it.
3) Julia Smith is in first grade, but the attendance shows her in Kindergarten, so hopefully it's not to late to change that for July.
4) Collin Moore would like a permanent ID for his daughter Boleyn Moore (DOB 1/22/06).
Other than that it was a very quiet two weeks.
The Reeds have graciously swapped dates with us to accommodate our summer vacation schedule. We will coordinate on July 10th and the Reeds will coordinate on Aug 14th for us.
Thanks, and enjoy this beautiful weather! Jane

Coordinators report from June 12
I apologize for just getting this sent today. I totally forgot about it.
There are no more visitor CD's. I handed out the last one on sunday.
Animal crackers are completely gone.
Janessa Hughes and Amy Jefferis switched as aides for this month.
Having the extra table in the hall for the stickers worked great. Galen just brought it down from the foyer and set it up in the hall against the wall. Not too close to our table to avoid congestion.
That's about it.

Coordinators report from June 5
Galen used up all the pretzels so they will need to be restocked.
Stacie Smith moved Julia into the first grade class. I did not really get a chance to speak with her regarding the move, not sure if Julia should wait to move up till September? I'll have to try and talk with her more this Sunday.
Not sure if anyone else experiences this but this past sunday was just so chaotic at our table when kids were all coming to class. We had 4 visiting families, two arrived at our table at this time to register kids. Kids were crowding around the table reaching from behind me, beside me etc. trying to get their stickers. I was feeling extremly frustrated and probably embarrased in front of these new families as it just felt somewhat rude. Elyse came up with the idea to just have another table down the hall aways before you come to our registration, with all the remaining stickers on that table. That will remove the chaotic mess at our table and allow us to deal with the aides and any questions, registrations etc. in a calm fashion :) We spoke with Blake about this and he thought it was a good idea. Any other thoughts feel free to share.

A week late...AGAIN
Sorry, I'm late, again. Just a few quick things before Connie notes anything from Mother's Day. Blake, you wanted me to remind you that we were going to try and replace any mom's serving in Nursery through Kindergarten on Mother's Day, um...well, aren't you glad you asked me to remind you :-) LOL
I want to suggest that we keep a copy of the Sunday School lessons in the file box. Two different teachers came asking for a copy last Sunday and I didn't have anything to give them. Scott gave Keith his Iphone with the lesson pulled off the internet, and Mary just improvised since she is Early Preschool.
Mari Knepp is officially moved up to the Kindergarten class. When Jocelyn gets back Mari's name tag and attendance record will need to be changed.
Ilsa Seasholtz is moving up to Early Preschool.
Salome Amaya can be added to the Early Preschool class.
And that's it!
Ciao, Jane

Sunday, April 24th
Hello Coordinators, hope you're all having a good week.
Jocelyn, I am so sorry...I forgot all about blogging until now and I know you'd like us to do it earlier in the week. Hopefully, you can still get this done for Sunday and I'll try to do better next time.
Just a few things:
Kiley Seeley moved up to Late Preschool
Carissa Seeley moved up to Early Preschool
Jason and Andrea Schwenk requested a permanent ID card. They are now #471 and they have 4 children: Johanna (11/18/03) in 1st grade
Salome (2/14/05) in Kindergarten
Jael (8/23/07) in Early Preschool
Moriah (4/11/09) in Early Preschool
Ezra (12/29/10)
Things went rather smoothly except for a little confusion regarding care of the Knepp children. Ed was told previously that Dean and Gwen were now going to schedule people to be with their kids in the gym and it was no longer going to be our responsibility but then they came back to us wondering where their helpers were. We were short Myka's assigned helper and we didn't have any spare aides because classes were large, maybe due to Easter, so our son Justin went into the gym with them along with Michaiah Hughes who just came back to the table and offered extra help if we needed it, which we did. Does this need to be discussed with the Knepps again or did Ed just misunderstand? What does anyone else know about this situation?
That's all for now. Gotta go so I can get up early to catch the royal wedding!
Good night,
Connie

Response to April 17th
Hello Coordinators,
This week Blake met with Brooke Dailey to clear up the situation from last week that Teresa blogged. We won't encourage parents separating other children in the class except their own child, as Brooke admits she did incorrectly. He also spoke with the teachers and things have been clarified for the future - there is no need to be separating the Miller's or Knaub's boys in future classes. It will be handled on a week to week basis with the parents being involved, particularly the dads. In short, everything has been clarified and resolved from last week.
Please see Blake if you have any other questions.
Thanks so much for serving so faithfully!

Coordinators report from April 10 and 17th
We need more napkins and also pretzels and animal crackers. Bob Seasholtz had asked if we have plastic water pitchers anywhere to use for the late Pre class. He thought we had some before that he had used to fill up with water for their drink. He said it makes it so much easier for them to get cups filled. Just questioning status of Brian Fath, Late Preschool. He is on the attendance sheets but has no sticker with his name. He has not been here the two weeks we were on, just questioning the status. Should his name be removed from the attendance sheets? Jocelyn, the total number of Early and Late Preschool classes are 31. We need more yellow CM visitor ID cards, only a few left. Sean Obrien moved into the K class. Please note change. The two weeks we were on we had issues both weeks with kids racing in the halls, having to be spoken to numerous time by us as well as other church members. parents are all on worship team or elsewhere serving. No adult supervision!!! Dave Alderfer is away Easter sunday. Dan and Linda are teaching for him, 5th grade. Jason and Andrea Schwenk #471, requested permanent ID cards and stickers. Jan and Becky Landis #172 need new ID cards, lost their card. Brooke Daily came to us after placing Sean in his class. She was very upset. She said, she had spoken to Blake and shared that Judah Knaub and Andrew Miller should be seperated in class and sit up front, there had been issues with them mocking Sean, both of these boys are leaders in the class and she did not want everyone "following this example. She stated this was to be communicated to all teachers in the 2nd grade. She told us she could not go back into the service until Galen or I went and remedied the situation as both boys were together and the teachers had no idea about this problem. She also mentioned numerous times her and Kim Knaub had discussed this and agreed on this solution. Galen went and explained all this to the 2nd grade teacher outside in the hallway. She did agree the two boys probably should be seperated, only because they tend to fool around together but she had no idea about the issue with Sean. She did seperate them. After class was over Kim Knaub came to our table, very confused as to why her son had to be given an assigned seat. We explained everything Brooke had shared with us. She was aware of Brooke's concern and is wanting to do what is best for Sean, but she was very upset herself, as she was totally unaware of this whole decision to seperate the boys. We felt totally helpless. Kim was not upset with us just wanting to talk to Blake more and try and work this out. We felt so bad for the teachers, Jess Freed and Kristen Palmer as they were caught in the middle just like us and I would appreciate it Blake if you could apologize to them as I'm sure it was just as awkward for them when Kim questioned them on something we all thought she was aware of. Blake if you could e-mail all of us after you speak with both of these parents, how to proceed that would be great. Brooke expressed, this procedure is to be passed on every week from teacher to teacher, so please let us know what decision is made and how best to handle it. Thanks, Teresa

Sunday, March 27th
Hi All - It was a pretty calm Sunday. I apologize if I repeat some of what Jane said last time.
- Please make permanent tags for Annabel Cunningham. (4-13-05) Also, please make three ID cards with her number. Two for Donna and Paul (grandparents) and one for her aunt Rachel Gardocki.
- Walkers need new ID cards (#180)
- We are in need of some current bible memory sheets (handed out 3 outdated ones today. Oops!)
- We are completely out of visitor letters and CD's.
Add to attendance:
- Avery Walker (nursery) - Annabel Cunningham (1st) - Serena Detweiler (4th) -Landon Detweiler (6th)
Move these kids up for April:
- Chase Walker to Kindergarten - Tessa Herb to Late Pre - Bronwyn Randolph - Late Pre
I think that's it. We'll be back in the saddle next week!
Over and out,
Steve and Krin

March 20, 2011
I'm glad to see that Krin hasn't blogged yet...since I forgot last week, at least I can still keep things in order :-)
Anyway, just a few notes from two weeks ago that I forgot to blog about, but am now.
1) Kevin and Melissa Todd would like a permanent ID. Their kids are: Emily (8/29/99), Aidan (9/15/01), Brea (5/30/04). Their phone number is (610) 287-2446.
2) Chase Walker will be moving up to the Kindergarten class of of the first Sunday in April. He turned 5 after the cut-off, but long enough ago that he is bored in the late preschool. Since the LP class is big and the K class is rather small we (Blake included) thought this would be a good move for Chase. The attendance and name tag will need to reflect this change.
3) Avery Walker needs to be added to the nursery roster.
4) Anne Rizzo and Danny Rizzo's ID #'s do not match. Anne's card says 202 and Danny's name tag says #205. I'm not sure what has to happen to fix this, either Anne needs a new card with Danny's number or Danny's number needs to be changed so his name tag reflects the same number as his mom's card.
5) A big thank you to the Reeds for filling into Late Preschool...AGAIN! Also, Bev Silver was swapped from the nursery to third grade to help Ann O'Brien who was subbing for the Landis'. Anne had a tough time finding someone to replace Frank (who was away), to have the help she needed in the classroom. Since there were four adults on the nursery schedule and the attendance in the nursery was light we asked Bev, who was more than willing to help.
That's all! Sorry to be so behind this. Jane

Sunday March 13
Just a few items from this past Sunday...it was a little hectic but everything worked out...PTL!
...a permanent family ID was requested by Don and Tara Detweiler. Their son, Landon, (5/9/99) is in 6th grade and daughter, Serena, (11/18/01) is in 4th
...Sarah Walker requested that her daughter, Avery, be added to the nursery list (Jocelyn, I'm sorry for not getting her birthdate...forgot all about that until now)
...Maribel Willits lost her family ID card and needs a new one printed
...the Knepps would like their children watched in the big gym now instead of the hub. We pulled Myka's scheduled aide for this job but didn't have extra aides for a second helper so our son, Justin, helped out. If anyone finds themselves in the same predicament in the future, I'm sure Justin would do it again if you need to pull him in, feel free.
...a long time ago, Jane mentioned getting a clipboard for taking attendance. This past Sunday I realized that would be handy so Ed brought one home from work today. I'll put it on the coordinator cart for anyone to use in the future.
...the visitor card file box lid broke off and Blake gave me the okay to purchase another one. I'll try to have a spiffy new file box for this Sunday : )
...the 4th grade classroom door was locked again so Jan came to our rescue; also, our church's supply room was locked which Ed needed to get into for a teacher.
...just to keep every abreast of things, Ed and I are filling in for Scott and Jane in April so they are taking our second week this Sunday.
That's all I can think of...its been a blast blogging : )

February 27, 2010
Many items to note from yesterday:
1) Sarb Walbridge would like a permanent ID Card. Her children and their D.O.B. are as follows: Sasha (2/22/97), Jordon (1/1/99), Leah (3/19/01) Her temporary ID was #460.
2) David Koenig would also like a permanent ID (his fiances name is Sharon). His/Her children are as follows: Darius Rose (5/14/02), Tierney Rose (11/7/03), Jackson Koenig (1/20/10). His temporary ID was #449.
3) Gessie & Emely filled in for Mike and Brenda Alburger.
4) We had two teachers who could not make it on Sunday. Neither one found a replacement. Connie Reed graciously filled in for Laurie Mart in the Late Preschool Class (thanks Connie!!!). The other teacher was Rose Sebra. However, Rose's absence brings up another issue. Tom and Rose are fairly new to CM and they did not know that there are two adults required in the classroom. So while Tom showed up eager and ready to teach solo. we did have to come up with another adult. Neil Frank volunteered to step in and help. There have been several things that Tom and Rose have had to learn along the way, so I just want to make note again that we really should consider some kind of formal training/orientation for new teachers. While I'm sure there would always be open gaps, I do think that if they spent time in the classroom observing other teachers before they are one, it may help them feel more comfortable in their new role as well as help eliminate situations like this. I also want to suggest the possibility of a Sub List. It seems that the last few times Scott and I coordinated we had teachers that could not make it at the last minute and we were left scrambling to find someone that morning. It would be great if there was a Sub list of people who agree in advance, that if a teacher cannot show up (last minute...because obviously we prefer that teachers replace themselves in their absence), but if it is a last minute situation, then we know exactly who we can tap in service to help out in a pinch. Anyway, just a suggestion.
5) Matt and Monica Colflesh, who just had a baby, should be removed from the teaching schedule and a replacement needs to be found, if this has not been done already.
6) We are out of snack items (cookies/pretzels). Connie, if you don't have time to pick some up this week let me know, I would be happy to get something at Costco.
7) Teagan O'Mara will be moved up to the late preschool class beginning next Sunday March 6th. Her name tag and attendance will need to reflect his change. Also Caleb Silver's name tag and attendance need to be changed to late preschool as well.
8) We did have a very awkward situation arise yesterday. Laura Suerman was on the schedule for the Nursery. When she didn't show up, Scott went to get her from the auditorium. She was terribly upset about being pulled from service because 1) she did not know that she was on the nursery schedule at all and 2) she was very adamant that while Joce did call and ask her to help in the nursery she never agreed to it, but actually declined. We sent her back to the service assuring her we would work things out without her, but she was very upset and someone (Blake?) may want to follow-up with her. She needs to be removed from the schedule and a replacement found for her in the meantime and I would say to all coordinators if you see her name listed to check with Blake before pulling her from the service again.
9) Machaiah Hughes & Sara Fenstermacher switched their Aide shifts.
That's it! Thanks, Jane

Coordinators report for Feb. 20th
A variety of things to share......
First off, we are running low on Grace Kids Visitor Information cards. Should be restocked.
Jocelyn, maybe hold off on the permanent sticker for Annabell Cunningham #465, she was not here today. We can just wait and see if she comes more consistently, if so, she is first grade, birth date 4/13/005
Could anyone share any details regarding a man by the name of Colin Moore. He came to our table after CM had started. Handed me a yellow card with his name and daughter's name, Boleyn. There was no ID# on the card. I quickly went to the file box, but could not find an info card for him, I was trying to hurry as class had started, I just quickly grabbed a new card to atleast assign her a number and wrote this on his card. He gruffly asked me what i was doing? Kind of scared me a little. I explained to him what i was doing and he just said okay. I tried to go through the box thinking maybe his info card was misplaced but I couldn't find one. Wasn't sure if anyone has any other info. We saw him going into the teachers' lounge and he was in there for a while, just seemed a little odd. Maybe we are just being too suspicious of people. Elyse said she recognized him from last week, but he didn't have his little girl last week. He must have come before as he had a yellow card.
Things went well with the Knepp children. We took Myka's aide and another aide on our list and they took care of the 3 Knepp Children in the Hub. The aides took a few toys and books from the preschool class bins and just stayed in the Hub with the children. Dean and Gwen were able to be in the service and we think things seemed to go well. So, if everyone could just continue that format for now, it seems to be serving the Knepps. Just make sure you connect with Dean and Gwen each Sunday and verify this is what we are doing. Make sure aides are aware why we are doing this, just trying to keep the children from picking up colds etc. It's just good to explain to everyone.
Regarding toys in the bins, Could Olivia and I head to Care and share and purchase a few age appropriate toys for the bins? Teachers have been requesting different items, especially in the Late Preschool class. Also, when we sent things over to the Hub for the Knepps, there really wasn't a lot extra to take from the class.
Blake, i had a big discussion with Robin O'mara regarding moving Teagen up to Late Preschool. There are 3 children, Teagen, Bronwyn and Caleb Silver all 3 1/2 yrs. old approx. Parents really want them to move up. It sounds like the teachers are also encouraging them to move up. I can say, having sat in that class for an entire month with Noah, that the older ones really do need to move up, I think they get bored and then behaviour becomes a problem, the 3 1/2 yr. old isn't satisifed with the two year old play anymore. I realize there were class size issues. With the 3 Knepp children not in LP right now, it isn't quite as many children. I told her I would pass this on to you and you can then speak with the parents. Being a parent of a young child in that class I can certainly relate to these parents and understand their desires. I also can feel for teachers dealing with huge class sizes.
One more thing just to give you a heads up. There has been a family visiting the past two weeks, Jason and Andrea Schwenk. I believe they have 5 little girls, one could be a boy, but I think they are all girls. We talked with them a lot today. They have not put their children in class yet, but are considering it in the next few weeks. Possibly waiting till March when new teachers start. They are concerned with their younger ones in the preschool class, I assured the mom that she could certainly sit in with them and do whatever to make them comfortable. the mom was very concerned regarding teacher requirements etc. I assured her about the background checks and she was glad to hear that. It sounds like the children have always remained with them in the service. Just wanted to give a heads up so when you see this family approaching the table you can have some knowledge, I know I always appreciated knowing things a head of time if possible.
I lied, one more thing. Regarding aides, we feel like we have had a great amount of aides which feels good. Brandon Knechel was on today and did not show, I think the last time we were on he didn't show, just wondered if he should be contacted if he is still wanting to be on the list.
Now I'm done. Thanks for reading my ramblings!!!
Have a good week,
Teresa

Coordinators Report from Feb. 13
There was some confusion regarding Annabelle Cunningham #462. She is the grand daughter of Donna and Paul Richardson. Aunt Rachel thought Annabelle had a permanent sticker but could not find one. I'm not sure if she had one or not, but if not, could we put her on the permanent class list.
Ezra Weinger should be in Late Preschool. He only just turned 5 in Jan. His name is listed on the Kindergarten class list.
We had a church member come to the table after CM had started and shared that she was concered that the Knepps were in the Hub with their children and they are not able to be in the service. WE were not aware they are not putting their children in class right now and probably won't till Spring. The church memeber wondered if Myka's assigned aide and another aide could take the kids into the gym during the service and just play with them so the knepps could be in the service. Galen went and inquired if the gym was open. It is, but we weren't even sure if this was something we could do. Galen went back to the HUB to talk with the Knepps but they had left. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. We definately seem to have enough aides to help. We sent one back this past Sunday and another aide hadn't even shown up. I assured the church member that we have been in dialogue with the Knepps how to best help them and that we are trying to serve them the best we can.
Enjoy the day.

Can you believe I'm posting already...just 3 hours after church was over!
Everything went well this morning, just a few things to blog about...
I noticed at the end of children's ministry that there were a bunch of coloring sheets laying on top of the coloring sheet bin on the supply cart. I put them in order but I don't know if they are old or new. Ed wasn't with me today and he normally takes care of that so, Steve, could you check into this next Sunday?
Justin restocked pretzels for me. Everyone should be good on snack for next week. I will pick up more pretzels though to have inventory.
I was able to go through the Visitor Cards in the file box and get rid of some very old ones.
Also, I looked over the attendance sheets and took down some names of people we do not see anymore. My feeling is that they could be deleted from the attendance sheets & labels but Blake should have the final say. Here is the list: Richard & Alexander Jones (#191)
Jake Craft (#173)
Eliana and Judah Falconera (#159)
Nicholas Wales (#128)
Julianna Trifan (#216)
Samantha Muniz (#209)
Jordan & Jaydn Perna (#198)
That's all I've got. Hope you all have a good week.

Dearest Coordinators,
We had several visitors due to the baby dedication but it all went well.
Not every aide showed up but we had enough.
I was looking through the attendance sheets and noticing some names that we don't see anymore. I want to try and go through it thoroughly this week and "declutter" - same with the visitor cards in the file box.
Only thing I need of Jocelyn this week is more yellow temporary ID cards - there are only a couple left.
That's all. Have fun in the slush!

Sunday Jan 2nd & 9th
January 2nd:
Rudloffs called in sick in the morning, and the only reason I'm noting this is to remind Blake to add his cell phone number to the CM schedule. Scott and I would not have gotten the Rudloffs call if I had not been home with a sick child, we would have already been at church that morning when Jeff called.
January 9th:
All the nursery aides showed up with the exception of Amy Jefferis, who was schedule to be Sean Dailey's assistant. This brought up Brooke & Dave's desires to have more male assistants helping Sean, and that if there had to be a female it needed to be someone with a "strong" personality, such as Maggie Frank (per Brooke).
Dan & Jenn Herb need a new ID card, there number is 179.
Also, there is a 1 year old in the nursery who is potty trained, but needs assistance in the bathroom. Just an FYI.
Other than that it was a quiet morning. Thanks Connie & Ed for stepping in at the end of service for Scott and I :-)
